Does Dental Insurance Cover Restorative Dental Treatment?
Most insurance companies cover a portion of restorative dental treatments. How much they cover depends on:
- The insurance company
- Your unique policy
- Whether the procedure is a “basic” or “major” restorative procedure
Often, insurance companies will cover 50% to 80% of restorative procedures (up to your annual maximum). Typically, “basic” procedures like fillings are covered at 80%, while crowns, bridges, and dentures are considered “major” procedures and covered at 50%.
We’ll work with your insurance company to understand your dental plan, what’s covered, and at what percentage in order to provide you with an as accurate as possible estimate for your dental treatment. From there, we can create a payment plan that works with your budget, including offering information about outside financing options.
